Occupational Therapy
What Is Occupational Therapy?
In its simplest terms, occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants help people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations). Common occupational therapy interventions include helping children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations, helping people recovering from injury to regain skills, and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes.
Yoga and Occupational Therapy
A graduate of Tufts University with a Masters in Occupational Therapy, I have a strong background in anatomy, physiology, neuroanatomy and kinesiology. This skill set combined with extensive yoga training allows me to provide refined, safe and impactful yoga instruction. As an Occupational Therapist I am trained to look at the whole person. What factors of a person, the environment or an activity are leading towards success and expansion or difficulty and contraction? The same line of thought leads me to personalized yoga instruction for every student, in every class, every time.
