Me
Hi! So glad you have arrived at my site! I am a life-loving, yoga practicing, chocolate making, Kale juice sipping yogi- pumped about sharing what I have to offer AND learning from all those I encounter.
I am indebted to my many teachers including John Friend, Jordan Bloom, Sianna Sherman, Naomi Gottlieb-Miller, Ross Rayburn and Many more! With these and other Certified Anusara Teachers I have studied and accumulated over 1,500 (and counting) training hours.I am registered as an Anusara-Inspired yoga teacher as well as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) with Yoga Alliance. I continually seek to refine my craft attending numerous trainings each year. I am always working to bring the best and most clear instruction back to my students.
I began my studies of yoga over 15 years ago. I have practiced a variety of styles including Vinyasa and Forrest Yoga. I have found that skillful yoga based in biomechanics and movement principles allows us to go deeper into our practice- reaching poses we though not possible. This deep alignment also starts to rub off in day to day life, “if I can do that crazy thing on my mat, maybe I can do some amazing things out in the world too!” I have seen the impact of this practice on a deeply personal level both physically and spiritually. Within this framework, and with knowledge of wellness and the body garnered from my work as an occupational therapist, I aim to help students build strength and flexibility while simultaneously reinforcing their sense of self-worth. The use of biomechanics and alignment in a class infused with flow, heart and play engages body, mind, and spirit in an uplifting and therapeutic manner!
I aim to teach classes that both affirm life and encourage students to savor the full range of human experience. I believe a yoga practice should and can enhance every aspect of your life, as it hones your ability to better navigate your world. Most importantly, I endeavor to ensure each student leaves class feeling better than when they entered, with a deeper sense of connection to themselves and a delightful lightness of heart.
